TRAVEL PLAN: ORGANIZING YOUR FIRST SOLO TRIP

10/18/17

Over the last few years, solo travel has become more and more popular, with loads of people taking to the sea and sky by themselves. This new trend is largely thanks to the ease and affordability of modern travel. Nowadays, you can book yourself a flight while you're stood in the airport, and be on the plane within hours. Of course, though, when you’re a first timer, this can still be a little bit daunting. To help you out with this, this post will be exploring some of the things you’ll need to organize before you hit the road, taking all of the stress out of your hands.

Documents

The very first thing you need to think about when you’re planning to travel is the documents you’ll be taking with you. Your passport is the most critical and will need to be at least six months away from expiry for you to travel with it. It can take a couple of months to get this back when you apply for a new one, so it’s worth checking yours nice and early on. Likewise, visas and other travel documents will need to arrange before you go, as these can also take a long time to be processed.

Bookings/Reservations

With an idea of the documents you’ll be needing, you can turn your attention to your hotel and flights. Researching hotels is easy, with loads of options like Quality Inn & Suites Danbury making it a simple job of choosing the best place for you. Your flights, on the other hand, could be a little more tricky. The savviest fliers will use apps like SkyScanner to help them get the best deals on their air travel. Along with this, though, you could also do some learning about the way airline websites work.

Packing Everything

Once you have all of your bookings made, you will be ready to get started on the packing element of your trip. At this stage, you need to think about several factors; climate, environment, and the activities you’ll be taking part in. Having to pay for extra luggage at the airport is expensive. So, it’s a good idea to weigh and measure yours before you get to the airport. Packing light will always help you, as well.

Creating Your Plan

Finally, with your documents, bookings, and packing in order, you will be ready to form an itinerary for your vacation. You should look into the things to do in your chosen area, using websites like TripAdvisor to find the ones you like the most. Along with this, you should consider traveling time and your commitments along the way. With a good plan in place, your trip will go smoothly, and you will be able to make the most of the time you have.

Hopefully, this post will inspire you to start looking into the idea of your own solo trip. The idea of a vacation like this can be very daunting when you’re getting started. But, with the right effort, you should be able to forge a vacation you’ll remember for the rest of your life.
